With its modern laboratories, rich library, sports and health facilities, accommodation and dining services, Mersin University offers its students a well-equipped campus life that goes far beyond the classroom.
The faculties and schools house education and research laboratories equipped with advanced technology, led by computer labs. The Advanced Technology Education, Research and Application Center (İLTEM) also serves the R&D needs of regional universities and public and private-sector researchers; its calibration laboratories are accredited by TÜRKAK.
The university library serves with a total seating capacity of 860 across the Çiftlikköy Library and the Information Access Halls. It offers thousands of Turkish and foreign-language books, database subscriptions, theses and e-books, along with group study rooms and open-access computers; resources are also available online.
Internet technologies are used actively across campus; students can register for courses, make updates and view their grades online. Free wireless (WiFi-6) internet access is provided throughout the campus.
A 5,000-seat stadium, a semi-Olympic swimming pool, indoor sports halls, tennis courts, fitness rooms and numerous fields enable wide participation in sports. The facilities are open to students, staff and the people of Mersin alike.
The 638-bed Health Research and Application Hospital, the 128-bed Oncology Hospital and the 178-unit Dental Hospital on the Çiftlikköy Campus provide advanced diagnosis and treatment, also serving the people of Mersin and the wider region.
A four-course lunch prepared under dietitian supervision is served daily across all campuses and units. Alongside the dining halls, canteens, cafeterias and restaurants broaden the range of dining options.
An 8,000-bed accommodation facility provided for students by the Ministry of Youth and Sports on the Çiftlikköy Campus offers comfortable lodging. Numerous private dormitories around the campus largely meet the remaining accommodation needs.
The Department of Health, Culture and Sports provides students with meal scholarships and part-time work opportunities, while the needs of student communities are met within budgetary means.
Numerous event and conference venues of varying capacities serve the campus, including the 1,650-seat hall at the Mediterranean Culture Center, the Prof. Dr. Uğur Oral Culture Center, the Prof. Dr. Vural Ülkü Conference Hall and a 2,500-seat amphitheatre.
The shopping complex on the Çiftlikköy Campus includes restaurants, cafeterias, a market, a cinema, a bank and game rooms. Post offices and bank ATMs also serve the campuses.
The Practice Daycare and Kindergarten, affiliated with the Faculty of Education, provides preschool education for children aged 3–6, with priority given to the children of university and public-sector employees.
The Guidance and Psychological Counseling Application and Research Center supports students' individual, social, educational and professional development, offering individual and group counseling as well as online counseling services.
The campuses can be reached by public transport from the city center and various districts with a single connection. Free shuttle (ring) services run between the Çiftlikköy and Yenişehir campuses for students and staff.
With the goal of a ‘barrier-free university,’ we are creating spaces where individuals with disabilities can easily access transportation, housing, and academic opportunities.
